What is IDD?
Intrathecal drug delivery, often shortened to IDD, is a special way to deliver pain relieving medicine. Instead of taking pain relieving drugs by mouth, which affects the whole body, they are given in a very low dose directly into the intrathecal space, the liquid-filled area around the spinal cord. To achieve this, an implantable device is needed, which will be explained in more detail.

With IDD, pain medication is delivered though a small, soft tube directly into the intrathecal space, the fluid-filled area around the spinal cord
